An initial consultation will be carried out to include a full history of your current injury and any other relevant information as well as a physical assessment of the injured area and a full postural assessment. Please ensure you wear appropriate underwear or clothing which allows full access to the injured area in order for a thorough assessment to be carried out. Shorts and a vest are ideal.
I will then discuss a treatment plan with you which may include manual treatment techniques, postural advice and gentle stretches and strengthening exercises where appropriate, for you to conduct at home.
I will always aim to reduce pain and assist you in returning to full function as quickly and as effectively as possible, taking into account your lifestyle and circumstances.
MASSAGE THERAPY & JOINT MOBILISATIONS
Using a combination of sports massage, myofascial release and Osteopathic soft tissue techniques, I aim to reduce muscular tension, improve soft tissue mobility and to release any restrictions within the connective tissue which surrounds all of our muscles, joints and organs. At this stage I will often incorporate exercise therapy to address muscular weakness, tensions and imbalances relating to your symptoms.
Some techniques provide a deep tissue treatment whilst others are much more superficial but all assist in reducing tension, inflammation and discomfort whilst improving blood flow and enhancing the function of the body's lymphatic system in the removal of waste products.
