With the option of either Pilates-based fitness or buggy fitness classes, these classes are designed to regain and restore. Helping you to return to your pre-pregnancy body or better! There is a strong focus on pelvic floor function and safe abdominal strengthening to help reduce the separation of the abdominals or Diastasis Recti, which can develop during and after pregnancy.

Both classes enable you to come along, without the need for childcare and meet other new mums whilst improving the strength and fitness of your post-baby body. We also address many of the areas affected by the physical demands of new motherhood, including postural aches and pains as a result of feeding, changing nappies and carrying car seats amongst others.

Improve posture and balance

Reduce back pain

Improve pelvic floor function

Improve abdominal strength and recovery after pregnancy

Feel more positive and confident about your post-pregnancy body

Improve relaxation and reduce anxiety

Improve general strength and mobility to assist with the demands of being a mummy

Meet other new mummies!

You don't need any experience in Pilates or exercise in general to attend. All classes are taught at beginners level with the potential for you to progress and improve as you continue with the classes. Although I ask that you pay for a block of 6 sessions, I fully appreciate it is not always possible to guarantee attendance with a new baby in tow. I am happy to discuss rolling sessions over in these cases.

Classes are charged at £30 for 6 sessions

You will need clearance from your GP before attending and will not be able to attend until you have had your 6 week postnatal check (12 week in the case of a caesarean section)

What do I need to bring?

  • Water to keep you hydrated

  • A car seat, pushchair, bouncy chair or cushion for your body to lie/sit on - the Buggy Fitness class will also inculde an element of matwork and but your baby is fine to stay within it's pushcahir or pram during this or to use the mats provided. During very cold or wet weather, the class will be held indoors.

  • Any toys that your baby may like to play with/chew

  • Suitable footwear for Buggy Fitness, Pilates-based classes will be carried out with bare feet or in socks

  • Clothing must be comfortable and non restricting

Please note, a playmat and toys will also be provided for your use. I understand entirely how unpredictable babies can be so please don't worry if your baby needs feeding, changing or comforting during the class.
