15-minute daily mobility fix.
Here I share with you, the exact routine I use (as a woman in her mid 40s), every morning to get my body moving, to wake up my joints and to prepare my body for the day ahead.
Why mobility is so important
It helps the body move comfortably and efficiently through the ranges needed for everyday activities and exercise. Maintaining mobility can reduce stiffness, support good movement patterns, complement strength and balance training, and make it easier to gradually increase activity without overloading the body. It is particularly useful during midlife, when changes associated with menopause can affect muscles, joints and bone health.
The likely effects if you make this part of your daily routine
With consistent practice, you can improve joint range of motion, flexibility, posture making everyday movement so much easier. You'll likely feel much less joint stiffness in general and over time, other activities such as walking, strength training or recreational exercise can also feel more comfortable. Mobility work is not a substitute for aerobic or strength exercise, but it can be a useful starting point, a way to introduce a regular movement habit and a great foundation to build upon.
